1. Who we are

This website and online store are operated by canela bakes (“we”, “us”, “our”).
Our store is hosted by Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products online.

By visiting our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Online store terms

  • You must be at least the age of majority in your state or territory, or have permission from a parent or guardian, to purchase from us.

  • Our products are intended for personal use and must not be resold without written permission.

3. Products, allergens & ingredients

  • All canela bakes products are handmade and perishable.

  • Ingredients and allergens are listed on product pages and/or labels; however, please note that all items are prepared in a kitchen that handles gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, and nuts.
    Cross-contamination may occur despite best practices to minimise it.

  • Product photos are for reference — as everything is made by hand, slight variations in size, colour, or decoration may occur.

4. Orders, changes & cancellations

  • Orders are accepted once payment has been received through checkout.

  • Because our desserts are made to order, changes or cancellations must be requested within 12 hours of placing your order by emailing silvia@canelabakes.com.au
    After this time, we may have already started preparing your order and cannot guarantee changes.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order (for example, suspected fraud or product unavailability). If this occurs, you will receive a full refund.

5. Pricing & payment

  • All prices are listed in AUD and may change without notice.

  • Payments are processed securely through Shopify’s approved payment gateways (including Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and credit/debit cards).

  • canela bakes does not store your full payment details.

6. Pick-up & delivery

  • Orders are currently pick-up only from Canela Kitchen (Langwarrin, VIC).

  • Pick-up address and time details will be sent by email once your order is confirmed.

  • Please collect your order within the agreed timeframe to maintain freshness. If you’re running late, contact us as soon as possible — re-bakes or missed collections may incur additional costs.

  • Delivery may be offered occasionally for special dates or areas. When available, details will be clearly stated on the product page or at checkout.

7. Storage & best-before

  • Storage recommendations and best-before details are provided for each product (e.g., best enjoyed fresh, up to 5 days in an airtight container, or up to 7 days refrigerated).

  • Once collected or delivered, proper storage becomes the customer’s responsibility.

8. Refunds & issues

  • Because all products are handmade and perishable, we’re unable to offer refunds or exchanges.

  • If something isn’t right with your order, please contact silvia@canelabakes.com.au within 24 hours of pick-up or delivery, including your order number and photos.
    If we determine an error on our part, we’ll offer an appropriate solution (such as a replacement or partial refund).

9. Intellectual property

All product names, photos, text, and brand materials on this website are the property of canela bakes and may not be copied, distributed, or used without permission.

10. Third-party services & links

We use third-party services (such as Shopify) to operate our store and process payments. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Any links to third-party websites are provided for convenience — canela bakes is not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

11. Accuracy & availability

We do our best to keep information current and accurate but reserve the right to correct errors, update product details, or change prices at any time without notice.
All products are subject to availability until your order is confirmed.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, canela bakes is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses resulting from the use of this website or purchase of our products.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

13. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy (available in the site footer). Shopify also securely processes data to facilitate online orders and payments.

14. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time by posting a new version on this page. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
